Al Reed Robinson, 86, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at 5:30 AM in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, Indiana.
Al was born March 25, 1929 in Audrain County, Missouri to Al Newton and Bertie Ellen (Munday) Robinson.
He entered the US Army January 20, 1947 and was honorably discharged after a second enlistment.
He and Rosie Mae Jordan were married October 27, 1951 in Arkansas.
Al was a Leesburg, Indiana resident and was employed by Choretime Brock for 22 years retiring in 1994 as a welder.
He enjoyed restoring old cars, home remodeling, hunting, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Rosie Robinson, Leesburg; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Alan and Nancy Robinson, Warsaw, Indiana and Joseph Robinson of Leesburg; daughter and son-in-law: Cathy and Baldemar Espinoza, Warsaw; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jack D. Robinson, Mexico, Missouri; and Oscar L. Robinson, Palestine, Indiana.
Al was preceded in death by his parents: Al Newton and Bertie Ellen Robinson; 6 brothers: Myle Lee Robinson, Burdell Robinson, George W. Robinson, Bill Robinson, Bob Robinson and Albertus Robinson. Also preceding were 4 sisters: Myrtle E. Jones, Goldie O. Davidson, Ruth E. Harding and Mary Robinson.
There will be a graveside service Thursday, January 28th at 1 PM in Leesburg Cemetery. Pastor Bob Jarboe, Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice chaplain, will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
The family has asked that gifts in Al’s memory be given to a charity of the donor’s choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Al’s memory.
