Allen Shepherd

Allen Shepherd, 69, of North Webster, IN passed away at 2:12 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born on January 4, 1944 in Floyd County, KY to Henry & Roxie (Slone) Shepherd.

He grew up in Kentucky and attended public school there. He was married on May 22, 1962 to Ruth A Barton who survives and moved to Indiana in 1963. He was formerly employed as a foreman at Syracuse Rubber Company for many years, worked on the North Webster Police Dept, managed the Crystal Flash Service Station in North Webster, was owner / operator of the Union 76 & Shell Service Stations in North Webster, and formerly served as a volunteer fireman on the North Webster Fire Dept.

He formerly attended the Church of the Brethren in North Webster.

He is survived by:
Wife – Ruth Shepherd of North Webster
2 Sons – Ricky Shepherd of North Webster & David Shepherd of Bradenton, FL
Sister – Jearlean (Hugh) Hutchins of Pierceton
Brother – Edward (wife, Elsie) Shepherd of Urbana, IN

He was preceded in death by his Parents, son – Allen Shepherd Jr., 3 sisters – Virginia Ousley, Elsie Robinson, & Sally Shepherd, 4 brothers – Earl, Elmus, Mitchell & Thomas Shepherd.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Hillcrest Cemetery, St. Rd. 13, Pierceton, IN.

Memorial bequest may be given to the Allen Shepherd Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
