Allie Hicks passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in her Sebring, Florida home, at the age of 100 years old.
Allie was born the daughter of Riley and Donna (Shepherd) Shepherd on March 8, 1914 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She was a resident of Kosciusko County most of her life. Allie enjoyed being a homemaker and helping her church, Rose Hill United Baptist Church of Silver Lake, Indiana of which she was a member. Allie married Ell Hicks, December 10, 1934 in Floyd County, Kentucky.
Allie leaves behind her daughter, Dorothy Pyle of Sebring, 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Tom and Jewell Hicks of Warsaw, Indiana; Bill and Cora Hicks of Sebring; Jack and Joyce Hicks of Pierceton, Indiana, 2 sisters: Mary Murphy of Warsaw, Indiana and Fannie (Robert) Cozzi of Warsaw, Indiana, 19 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 15 Great Great-Grandchildren.
Allie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ell Hicks (June 13, 1995), son, John Hicks, 7 brothers: Odis Shepherd, Bill Shepherd, Virgil Shepherd, Riley Shepherd, Willie Shepherd, Estil Shepherd and Ranel Shepherd, 4 sisters: Nearie Smith, Bernice Mayhugh, Ronda Shepherd and Sally Shepherd.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Tuesday, August 12th from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw and for one hour prior to the service in the church. A service celebrating the life of Allie Hicks will be at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in Rose Hill United Baptist Church, Silver Lake, with Elders Harold Vance and John White of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana
Gifts in Allie's memory may be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in her memory.
