Aloralee Bromley, a resident of Huntington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 10:54 a.m. A longtime resident northern Indiana, Aloralee was 70 years old.
She was born on September 24, 1950 in Peru and spent her formative years there. She graduated from North Miami High School in 1969 and spent much of her working years as a seamstress, sewing everything from boat and van seats to clothing and gloves. She also worked in several restaurants over the years but truly enjoyed sewing.
She also enjoyed camping, scrapbooking and computer games like Farmville, Candy Crush and Diamond Mine. She enjoyed a variety of TV shows from TLC to the Food Network but, more than anything, she enjoyed time spent with her family. She loved cooking for her family and especially loved the Holidays where she was sure to bake all kinds of goodies and make her own candies, too.
United in marriage to Donald R. Bromley on April 18, 1987, “Don” as most know him survives at home in Huntington. Also surviving are four children - son, Joe (Becky) Books of Macy; daughter, Laurie (Darrell) King of Eubank, KY; daughter, Marlena “Mar” Books of Huntington and son, Jessie (Kristi) Ousley of Huntington; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers: James (Linda) Warner of Naples, FL and Harry Books of Rochester and five sisters: Honey (Loren) Pruitt of Warsaw, Roxanna (Paul) Carter of Peru, Sandra Caddy of Logansport, Christina (Roger) Drudge of Jacksonville, FL and Juneattea (Rick) May of Rochester. She was preceded in passing by her parents: Ervin E. and Phyllis J. Books; brother, Richard Books; sister, Joyce Martin and a great-grandson, Avery.
