It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Anne Elizabeth Summe-Pease, of Kimmell, Indiana, on October 3, 2024, after a prolonged illness.
She had no children but will be lovingly remembered by her sister: Mary E. Blake of Fort Wayne Indiana, and her brother, Colonel Jack N. Summe (Ret.) and by her nieces and nephew, along with other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael R. Pease, her brother Thomas George Summe, and her parents Jack L. and Virginia Summe of Warsaw, Indiana.
Anne was an avid cook and enjoyed creating meals for family and friends. Her cookbook collection is large and varied. She also loved her dogs and an ever-changing parade of cats that found their way to her loving and generous home. Anne was also an early activist, involved in the issue of censorship of the school newspaper of which she was editor. She took on the administration and won, stopping censorship of the paper and the burning of books at her high school. Above all, Anne was capable and determined and accomplished what she set out to do. She inspired friendship and affection among the people that she knew, and she will be greatly missed.
Anne is in the care of Titus Funeral Home of North Webster. A graveside service will be offered at 1:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2024, at Lakeview Cemetery, Myrtle Glen Drive. Silver Lake, IN 46982 followed by a memorial buffet at the Eagles Lodge, 12889 N. Kern Road, Syracuse, IN 46567 at 4:00 PM.
