Barbara J. Engle

Barbara Jo Engle, lifelong resident of Warsaw, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on May 24, 1939, the daughter of Gail Max and Evelyn Josephine Lowman (Hite).

After graduating from Atwood High School in 1957, Barb married Max Engle on June 6, 1958, and together they created a loving family. She dedicated 29 years of her life working in packaging at Zimmer.

Barbara was an active member of Pleasant View Bible Church where she enjoyed putting on programs and working in the nursery. She was a proud member of the Home Ec Club for over 50 years. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, whom she loved deeply.

She is survived by her husband, Max, and their three sons: Daniel (Carla) Engle, James (Lynette) Engle, and Todd (Janice) Engle. Barb cherished her role as a grandmother to nine grandchildren and a great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings: her twin Beverly Huffman, Sue Earl, Sandy Sturmer, Karen Smiers, Terry Lowman, Laurie Lowman, and Deborah Helm. She was preceded in passing by her parents as well as two of her sons, Bruce Allen Engle and Douglas Lyle Engle.
