Barbara Jean Horn, age 68 and a resident of Warsaw, was called Home on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2:29 a.m. from Fort Wayne’s Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
She was born on February 10, 1950 in Hinton, West Virginia, the daughter of Melvin George Gill and Kathleen (Adkins) Gill. On February 1, 1966, she was united in marriage to Yancy Horn, Jr. To their union, two sons were born.
Barbara volunteered at the Salvation Army Store, the Beaman Home, and at Grace Village. She enjoyed watching cooking shows and gardening of both flowers and vegetables. She liked all kinds of crafts, loved Gospel music and attended God’s Highway to Heaven Church when she could.
In addition to her husband, Yancy Horn, Jr. of Warsaw, those who survive include son, John (Korrina) Horn and grandsons, Jacob and Jesse Horn, all of Brooksville, FL. Also surviving are her three sisters: Nancy (Larry) Duty of Van Lear, KY, Helen (Ron) Hall of Pierceton and Kitty (Tammy) Oliver of Jacksonville, FL.
She was preceded into Heaven by son, James Edward (Nov. 22, 2013), her parents, Melvin and Kathleen and by two brothers, Melvin and David Gill.
Friends may join family for a graveside service on Monday, May 7th at 1:30 p.m. in Pierceton’s Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given to God’s Highway to Heaven Food Bank, 555 Webber Street, Warsaw, IN 46580.
