Barbara A. "Barb' Kortum-Neff

Barbara Ann "Barb" Kortum-Neff, 80 of Sarasota, FL passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at her home in Sarasota, FL. She was born on February 21, 1939 in Keokuk, IA to Roy Wayne & Dorothy Mae (Hagmeier) Edwards.

She graduated in 1957 from Hamilton Senior High School in Hamilton, IA and received an associate degree from Keokuk Community College. She was married in 1957 to John Roger Colvin who preceded her, to Robert William Kortum who also preceded her, and on December 28, 2013 in St. Charles, MO to Michael L. “Mike” Neff who survives.

She was a corporate sales director with Hyatt Hotels & America Suites for 30 years and a former real estate agent in Missouri. Most of her life was spent in Keokuk, IA / St. Charles, MO and spent summers in Syracuse, IN. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in St. Charles, MO and attended St. Andrews United Methodist Church in Syracuse & Tri Par Covenant Church in Sarasota, FL.

She is survived by:

Husband – Mike Neff of Sarasota

Daughter – Cariann Arras of St. Charles, MO

2 Granddaughters – Heather Arras & Melissa Arras

2 Great Grandsons – Troy Allen & Russell Allen

Step Daughter - Kristine Neff of Chino, CA

Step Son - Brian (Keri) Neff M.D. of Rochester, MN

3 Step Grandchildren – Kathryn, Trent, & Aubrey Neff

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 husbands.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 in the funeral home with Pastor Jim Tormey officiating. Burial will take place in the Union Center Cemetery near Nappanee, IN.
