Beatrice A. “Bea” Brown, 93, of Mishawaka, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Mishawaka. She was born on January 13, 1922 in Elkhart, IN to Chester Hugh and Alta (Taylor) Books.

She graduated from Niles High School in Niles, MI and on April 13, 1949 she married Richard A. “Dick” Brown who preceded her in 1992.  She was a homemaker and was formerly employed with McCormick & Cutter Chevrolet in Syracuse, and Indiana Surgical in Indianapolis as a bookkeeper. She lived most of her life in Syracuse, Indianapolis & Tampa, FL before moving to the Osceola / Mishawaka area a few years ago.

She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #1342 in Syracuse, former member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #397 in Goshen, and formerly attended the United Brethren Church & Syracuse Church of God.

She is survived by:

3 Granddaughters – Patty (Matt Sherwood) Wogoman-Sherwood of Granger, Debra (Aaron) Rice of Cedar Springs, MI, & Dorrie Langdon of Cromwell

8 Great Grandchildren– Schuyler Bailey, Billy Hammer, Blake Hammer, Kaiden Parker, Catie (Keith) Trant, Ashley Langdon, Michelle Langdon, & Tori Langdon

Foster Grandson – Robbie Ginn of Midland, TX

Son in law – Clifford Wogoman of Syracuse

She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter – Sherrie Wogoman & 3 brothers – Willard, Norvan, & Donald Books.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd., Warsaw, IN. Private family burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Church of God, 104 E. Washington St., Syracuse, IN with Pastor Stan Owen of the church presiding.

Preferred memorials bequest may be given to the donor’s choice.
