Obituary for
Bennie Ousley Sr.
Bennie Raymond, Ousley, Sr., age 67 and a resident of Macy, IN, passed away on Monday, May 14th at 7:20 p.m. in his home. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren at the time of his death.
Bennie was born on May 20, 1950 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He was the son of Warren Ousley, Sr. and Fannie (Rose) (Ousley) Burns. Moving from Kentucky at the age of 9, his family eventually landed in Akron and he spent most of his lifetime in Fulton County. It was there that he met Annette “Nan” Beliles; the two were united in marriage on December 31, 1998.
Bennie had worked for Akron, Warsaw, Tippecanoe and Rochester Foundries before retiring from Arnett Construction. He enjoyed being outdoors and was known for his strong work ethic. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as gardening vegetables. He was a loving, caring family man and attended God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw when he could.
Those who survive include his wife, Nan Ousley of Macy and his sons: Bennie (Patty) Ousley, Jr. of Macy, Warren “Pete” Ousley of Rochester, Michael Ousley of Talma, Danny (Brandi) Cook II of Warsaw, Jamie Beliles of Macy and Jordan Ortega of Lafayette. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren: Jonathan Ousley of Macy, Joshua Ousley of Macy, Aydin Ousley of Macy, Corina Hoge of Silver Lake, Sidney Ousley of Rochester, Benjamyn Ousley of Rochester, Alexiz Ousley of Rochester, Brett-Levi Ousley of Rochester, Opie Jackson of Rochester, Damian Abair of Tennessee, Danny Cook III of Rochester, Nichole Cook of Rochester, Allison Cook of Rochester, Dominic Cook of Rochester, Caden Cook of Gary, Amanda Ousley of Macy and Ashley (Dan) Millspaugh of Marion; three brothers: Timmy (Jennifer) Ousley, Jimmy Ousley and Jeffrey Burns – all of Rochester. His great-grandson, Legend also survives in Tennessee.
Those who preceded him in passing include his parents; son, Daniel J. Ousley; infant son, Jessie James Ousley; and siblings: Warren Ousley, Jr., Renee Cox, Tommy Ousley and Jessie Ousley, Sr.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw on Thursday, May 17th from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral which celebrates his life will begin at 5 p.m in the Funeral Home.
