Bernard M. (Ben) Fick, 67, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 10:22 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born on December 24, 1943 in Oak Park, IL to Bernard Henry & Faye (Manges) Fick.
He graduated in 1962 from East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, IL and attended University of Maryland. He was a Vietnam Air Force Veteran. On July 12, 1985 in Springfield, OH he married Johnnie M. Willis who survives. He lived in the Poconos in Pennsylvania from 1968 – 1973 and then moved to the Warsaw and Syracuse area.
He retired in 2007 from Roadway Express, Inc. in Chicago, IL after 9 years of service. Formerly employed at Interstate Trucking in Tacoma, WA for 2 years; Schneider Trucking in Green Bay, WI for 4 years; Summit Coaches in Fort Wayne for 5 years; Baush & Lomb for 7 years and Megar Scientific, Inc. in Ann Arbor, MI for 6 years. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.
He is survived by:
Wife – Johnnie Fick of Syracuse
4 Daughters – Mrs. Michael (Amy Joy) Hood of Depaw, IN; Joy Goble of Warsaw, IN; Sonya Fick of Crownpoint, IN; and Tiffany Fick of Atlanta, GA.
2 Sons –  Mark (wife, Millie) Fick of Syracuse and Justin Fick of Syracuse
8 Grandchildren & 1 Gt. Granddaughter
2 Brothers – Edward (wife, Elaine) Fick of Austin, TX & Donald Fick of Gambrills, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his Parents & 1 Brother – Gerald Fick
Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. David Herr and Rev. Dave Marty officiating.

Memorial bequest may be given to Lutheran Cancer Resource Center, 7910 W. Jefferson Blvd. Suite 109, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
