Berniece C. Wood, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 3:10 AM in Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, Indiana.
Berniece was born October 3, 1923 in Pierceton, Indiana to Arthur and Minnie (Weaver) Barker. On October 26, 1940 she and George A. Wood were joined in marriage in Warsaw.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident, Berniece had worked for Da-Lite Screen Company for 15 years retiring in 1978. She was a member of Warsaw Church of God.
Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Charles and Joyce Wood and Ron and Carol Wood - all of Warsaw; a daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Allen Tusing of Florissant, Missouri; 4 sisters and a brother-in-law: Jeraldean Jackson, Fort Wayne, Indiana; Geraldean and Junior Graves of South Whitley, Indiana and Devona Morrical of Leo, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by George A. Wood, her husband of 60 years, on April 23, 2001; 3 brothers: Robert Barker, Lester Barker and Truman Barker; and 2 sisters: Helen Snepp and Orpha Thornburg.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 10 AM - 12 Noon at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of Berniece C. Wood will follow beginning at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Rev. William Whitaker of Warsaw Family Worship Center will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Berniece's memory be given to Alzheimer's Association, 6324 Constitution Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804.
