Bertha Turner (Phillips)

Bertha Mae Turner, 65, passed at away 12:19 AM on Sunday, April 24, 2016 while receiving care at a Fort Wayne, Indiana hospital. She was a resident of Warsaw, Indiana
Bertha was born in Reid, Mississippi to Otis and Beatrice (Vance) Phillips. She was born into a large family of many brothers and sisters.
Bertha was married to Percy V. Turner on February 14, 1980. Together they lived near Kankakee, Illinois for many years.
Although she never had children of her own, Bertha loved children and even served as a foster parent. She was known for her sparkling, clean home and her dressy attire. She enjoyed playing card games whenever she could. A caring person, Bertha served as a nurse’s aide for a number of years. She was a former member of Brightstar Church of God and Christ in Chicago, Illinois.
Bertha will be fondly remembered by those who survive her, including: two nieces: Theresa Clark of Warsaw, and Terri (Tammy) Taylor of Fort Wayne; six great-nieces and great-nephews: Shammona Clark of Chicago, Claude Clark of Warsaw, Sharica Clark of Fort Wayne, Antonio Castilo of Warsaw, Teremy Taylor, Tenise Taylor, and Terome Taylor, all of Fort Wayne, and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Turner; her parents and several brothers and sisters.

A memorial service and final committal will be held on Friday, June 10th at 12 o'clock, Noon in Oakwood Cemetery, 421 North Maple Ave., Warsaw. Bertha's family will officiate the service.
The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege and an honor to care for the family and friends of Bertha Mae Turner.
