Bessie Wallen, 89, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 10:13 PM in Mason's Health & Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Indiana.
Bessie was born September 26, 1924 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to Albert and Annie (Stephens) Hall. She and Henry Wallen were joined in marriage July 17, 1940 in Bull Creek, Kentucky.
Together she and Henry moved to Kosciusko County in 1961 from Prestonsburg. Bessie was a factory worker for Gatke Corporation and Da-Lite Screen. She was a member of Rosehill United Baptist Church in Silver Lake, Indiana.
Bessie is survived by her husband, Henry Wallen of Winona Lake, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law: William and Sally Wallen of Panama City, Florida; 2 daughters: Hennrieta Myers of Silver Lake, Indiana and Frances Wallen of Rockwall, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great, great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Geneva Stephens of Marion, Ohio; Josephine Field of Bremen, Indiana; Ruth Ousley, Warsaw; Mary Jane England, Pierceton, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by a son: Donald Wallen, April 4, 2013; 2 brothers: Bobby Hall in May of 2004 and Elbert Hall on December 19, 2003; 4 sisters: Mabel Prayer, Edith Collins, Evie Hall and Ethel Hall.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Saturday, December 21st from 12 noon - 2 PM in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Then beginning at 2 PM a service will take place to celebrate the life of Bessie Wallen and will lead by Rev. Harold Vance of Rosehill United Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Silver Lake, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Bessie's memory.
