Betty Lou Bussard, 93, passed away with family at her side Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 8:35 PM in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, Indiana.
She was born in Wabash, Indiana on December 23, 1920 as the daughter of Royal L. and Enid (Fritchey) Lavengood. Betty Lou was a 1939 graduate of Wabash High School. She and Richard J. Bussard were married on November 29, 1942 in Wabash.
Most of her life was lived in Warsaw, Indiana where she devoted 21 years in the clerical department of Zimmer. She retired in 1985. Betty Lou also had been employed by the Warsaw Community School System in the cafeteria for 10 years.
Betty Lou was a member of First Christian Church (Warsaw) and past member of Order of the Eastern Star (Warsaw Chapter).
Survivors include: 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Terry and Patricia Bussard, Donald and Linda Bussard and Kim and Lani Bussard - all of Warsaw. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and their spouses: Brandon and Wendy Bussard, Warsaw; Shelly Bussard, Warsaw; Matthew and Kate Bussard, Bargarsville, Indiana; Allison Bussard of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mesta Baker, Warsaw; Amberlee and Kevin Haines, Warsaw and Ryan Bussard, Warsaw; 2 step grandchildren: James Seeley of Oswego, Indiana and Veronica Singleton of Waterloo, Indiana; 11 great grandchildren and a brother and sister-in-law: Ned R. and Sibyl Lavengood of Wilson, North Carolina.
Betty Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Bussard (June 2, 1999) and parents: Royal L. and Enid Lavengood.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Friday, May 9th from 4-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life of Betty Lou Bussard will take place Saturday, May 10th beginning at 10:30 AM in the funeral home. Pastor Gary Boschain of First Christian Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
