Betty Jean Creviston, age 91, a long-time resident of Kosciusko County, passed away quietly on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Syracuse.
Betty was born on July 22, 1926 in Warsaw to Jennings and Gladys (Bloom) Ross. She was the only daughter of six children and was raised alongside her brothers, William, James, Herbert, Bob, and Dale Ross.
Betty was united in marriage to Leo J. Creviston on March 9, 1946 in Warsaw, Indiana. Together the two would share 34 years of marriage before his passing.
A caring, giving woman, Betty worked for Wonder Mart as the manager for 15 years. She also volunteered for many years with the Salvation Army and in the kitchen at Retired Tigers, where she also lived for nearly 30 years. Betty enjoyed playing BINGO and trying her luck in the casino (almost as much as she enjoyed the food).
She is survived by her grandson, Sean (Deanna) Creviston of Goshen; two great-granddaughters, Cralissa (Brandon) Holmes of Fort Wayne and Jazmyne Creviston of Goshen; a great-great-granddaughter, Addisyn Holmes and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Leo, who passed in 1981, her son, Terry Creviston preceded her in death in 2015. Also preceding Betty in passing were her five brothers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3rd in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 1:30 in the Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Locke officiating. Burial will be in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Warsaw’s Salvation Army, 501 East Arthur Street, Warsaw, IN 46580. Please note “In Memory of Betty Creviston” in memo line.
