Betty May Hinderer, 83, of Corunna, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 5:50 a.m. on March 26, 2012 at her residence. She was born on January 18, 1929 in Warsaw, IN to Theodore & Marguerite (Galbreath) Van Curen.
She graduated in 1947 from North Webster High School and on October 22, 1955 in North Webster, IN she married John R. Hinderer who preceded her in 1997. She lived most of her life in the North Webster / Syracuse area until moving to Corunna 8 years ago. She was a homemaker, member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and attended the Souls Harbor Assembly of God in Auburn.
She is survived by:
Daughter – Mrs. Lynn (Rebecca) McDonald of Corunna
Son – Brian (wife, Christy) Hinderer of Pierceton
1 Granddaughter, 2 Step Grandsons, 2 Step Gt. Grandsons
Sister – Lorita Randall of Warsaw
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son-Fred Hinderer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor David Snodderly of Souls Harbor Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow at the Syracuse Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Dekalb County Home Health Care, 1316 East 7 th St., Auburn, IN 46706. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
