Betty J. Lewallen, 86, of North Webster, IN passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her home. She was born on June 13, 1929 in Warsaw, IN to Delbert & Glea (Rider) East.

She grew up in the Warsaw / Mentone area and graduated in 1947 from Mentone High School. She was married on April 26, 1947 in Warsaw, IN to Jack A. Lewallen and they lived their married life in North Webster. Jack preceded her on January 28, 1991. She retired in 2003 as an Administrative Assistant from Zimmer Corporation in Warsaw after 24 years and was the former co-owner operator of Jack’s Village Video in Syracuse for 12 years. She formerly worked at Webster Products in North Webster and Liberty Homes in Syracuse.

She was a member of the Church of God in North Webster where she was part of the L.I.A. (Love in Action) Ladies and the J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) senior group.  She was formerly a member of the Efficient Homemakers Economics Club in North Webster and was an avid walker at the North Webster Community Center.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Pamela J. (Dan) Conder of Cicero, IN

2 Sons – Michael E. (Lana) Lewallen of Spring Hill, FL & Randy K. (Sharon Barefoot) Lewallen of North Webster

5 Grand & 8 Gt. Grandchildren

Sister – Geraldine East of Warsaw

Brother – Harold (Sharon) East of Warsaw

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son- Jack Lewallen Jr.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Boyer of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to Church of God, P.O. Box 313, North Webster, IN 46555 or Great Lakes Hospice, 334 Enterprise Drive, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
