Beverly Reid, a resident of Dallas, Georgia and a longtime Pierceton, Indiana resident, passed away quietly at her son’s home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, ten days shy of her 84th birthday.
Beverly was born in Leesburg, Indiana and was the daughter of Paul and Pearl Delight Rathbun. She was a graduate of Leesburg High School and went on to attend nursing school in Fort Wayne though she never worked as a nurse.
Beverly had a heart for children and a heart for serving others; she spent more than twenty years working for Girl Scouts of America. She was also an active member of Cook’s Chapel Church in Indiana and of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Georgia. She loved music of all kinds and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed cards at the local Senior Center and bettering the community as a member of the Lions Club. Most of all, she loved her family.
On August 31, 1958, Beverly was married to Donald Reid. They shared more than fifty-two years together before his passing in 2010. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Baker in 2017; infant daughter, Misty; brother, Leon Rathbun and her parents.
Those who survive with memories to cherish include her son, Monty Reid of Dallas, GA; son-in-law, Robert Baker of Pierceton, IN; grandson, Patrick (Donna) Baker of Bell W.Va; five great-grandchildren: Matthew, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Kayla, & Kaniah and several great-great-grandchildren.
Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home of Dallas and Titus Funeral Home of 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, are caring for the family. Friends may gather at Titus on Saturday, May 21, 2022 beginning at 10 a.m. At Noon, Pastor Earl Futch will officiate Beverly’s Life Celebration® service. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Wilmot.
