Biography
Bonita E. Collier of Pierceton, Indiana passed Monday, December 7, 2015, at 9:40 a.m. at Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, Indiana. She was 97. The daughter of Ira Lee and Bertha H. (Hossler) Brubaker, Bonita was born May 4, 1918 in South Whitley, Indiana. She was a 1936 graduate of Pierceton High School. In Orland, Indiana on February 4, 1939 Bonita and Marion T. Collier were joined in marriage. They would share 63 years together until his passing on January 24, 2003. Bonita was a homemaker who also worked for Pletcher Food Service, Pierceton. She was a member of Mother’s of World War ll, Eel River Christian Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She loved gardening, sewing and playing games – most of all she loved her family. Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and Don Boggs of Larwill, Indiana; and Luann and Brad Dunlap of Columbia City, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law: Robert L. and Sheila Collier of Larwill; 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Bonita was preceded in passing by 2 daughters: Janet Ann Collier in 1947 and Mary Coy in 2009; sister: Marilyn Culbertson; and 2 brothers: Gordon Brubaker in 1997 and Wilmer Brubaker. A graveside service will take place Saturday, December 12th at 10:30 a.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton. Pastor Bob Jarboe will officiate. The family has asked that gifts in memory of Bonita be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in her memory. The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege and an honor to care for the family and friends of Bonita Collier.
