Bonnie Ritenour (Wiley)

Bonnie W. Ritenour, 80, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 8:05 AM in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN.
Bonnie was the daughter of Garl and Opal (Forster) Wiley. She was born on July 1, 1935 in Huntington County, Indiana and was a 1953 graduate of Chester Township High School.
On May 16, 1954 Bonnie was married to Herman A. Ritenour in Columbia City, IN. Together the two shared more than sixty years and many memories. He recently preceded Bonnie in passing (January 13, 2016).
Bonnie was a dedicated employee. She had worked for General Telephone as an operator before moving from North Manchester to Warsaw in 1964. She then worked for United/Sprint Telephone, retiring in 2011 after 48 years of steadfast service; she held multiple positions with United/Sprint.
After retiring, she volunteered for several organizations including tutoring, nursing home visitation and church activities. She was a member of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church where she helped in the nursery and had been a children’s Sunday School teacher at one time. Bonnie enjoyed travel and was a long-time attendee of the Wagon Wheel Theatre, having attended since 1962. She enjoyed square dancing, scrapbooking and loved to cook and bake. She was an avid Longaberger Basket collector and volunteered at Washington Elementary School.
Above all, Bonnie’s life was focused on her faith and her family. She enjoyed watching her grandkid’s sporting events and was an avid fan of both Warsaw High School and IU Basketball.
Those left with memories to treasure include her son and daughter-in-law: Rodney and Anne Ritenour of North Manchester; five grandchildren: Anthony (wife Crystal) Ritenour of Louisville, KY, Michael Ritenour of Wabash, IN, Troy (wife Rhonda) Custer, Todd (wife Heather) Custer and Angela Custer, all of North Manchester; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law: Ronald and Bonnie Wiley of Urbana, IN and sister: Patricia Floor of Cedar City, UT.
In addition to her husband Herman, she was preceded in death by a brother: Alvin Wiley.
Friends and family may gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, June 8th from 3 - 7 in Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw. Bonnie’s funeral service will be held Thursday, June 9th at 10 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Ailes of Walnut Creek United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Bonnie be directed to the Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts to support the Wagon Wheel Junior Theatre, 2515 E. Center St., Warsaw, IN 46580.
