Bonnie L. Brandon

Bonnie L. Brandon, 91, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 (her 91st birthday) at her daughter’s home in Elkhart, IN. She was born April 30, 1928 in Hamilton, IN to Dwight F. & Vera M. (Heller) Haughey.

She grew up in Hamilton, IN, graduated in 1946 from Hamilton High School, and attended Warner Beauty School in Fort Wayne, IN. She was married on August 28, 1948 in Hamilton, IN to Richard W. “Dick” Brandon who preceded her on January 15, 2010 and lived in Syracuse 33 years before moving to Goshen in 2008. She was a homemaker and formerly employed as a clerk at Thornburg Drug Store in Syracuse for 8 years.

She was a member of the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

2 Daughters – Dianna (Steve) Russell & Sandra (Steve) Bates both of Elkhart

Son – Gary (Karen) Brandon of Columbia City, IN

8 Grand & 19 Gt. Grandchildren

2 Sisters – Donna Harger of Hamilton, Mary (John) Behler of Twinsburg, OH

Brother – Garst (Jill) Haughey of Hamilton

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister - Gratia Must, and an infant brother – Larry Haughey.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St. Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Jacob LaBounty of the Zion Missionary Church in Elkhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
