Obituary for Brooks Helmuth

Brooks Phillip Helmuth passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at 10:52 p.m. in his Warsaw home. He was 33 years old.
Brooks was born in Warsaw on July 3, 1984 to Phillip Helmuth and Debra Jean (Menzie) Helmuth. He attended Warsaw Community High School. He served in the United States Army as an Infantryman for eight years, spending two years in Korea and one year in Afghanistan before being honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
On November 25, 2009, he was married to Audrey Pickard in Chattahoochee, Georgia. They would share 8 years together prior to his passing. To their union, one daughter was born.
Brooks worked for Zimmer-Biomet as well as Seymour Midwest. He previously attended New Life Christian Church. He enjoyed Brazilian jiu-jitsu, competing and medaling in the middle weight class while stationed at Fort Bliss; he also enjoyed fishing. Brooks was excited to be a father and recently welcomed his daughter to the world. He was a giving, helpful person, described as the “strong, silent type”. He loved his family and had a strong work ethic.
Those who survive include his wife, Audrey and daughter, Marli of North Powder, Oregon, parents: Phillip and Deb Helmuth of Bourbon, brother, Terry Shaw of Bourbon, sister, Tammy (Ronald) Follmer of Etna Green, paternal grandmother, Esther Helmuth of Wakarusa, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his maternal grandparents: Marlin and Garnet Menzie, and paternal grandfather, Hank Helmuth.
