Burdette G. "Tony" Strombeck

April 10, 1923 — March 9, 2020

Burdette G. "Tony" Strombeck, 96, of North Webster, IN passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home. He was born on April 10, 1923 in North Webster, IN to Tony & Elsie V. (Gray) Strombeck.

He was a lifetime North Webster area resident, graduated in 1942 from North Webster High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on March 2, 1948 on an ABC radio show that was heard nationally called “Bride & Groom” in Hollywood, CA to Patricia J. “Pat” Berger who survives. He was the former owner / operator of Strombeck Dairy in North Webster and retired as a dairy distributor for Crystal Dairy, Burger Dairy, and Prairie Farms after 50+ years. He also served as deputy sheriff for the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Dept. and was Town Marshal in North Webster for 20+ years.

He was a life member & oldest / longest member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster. He was a 30 year member of the North Webster / Tippecanoe Township Fire Dept., retiring as a lifetime member. He also was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Syracuse and formerly attended the Church of God in North Webster.

He is survived by:

Wife – Pat Strombeck of North Webster

2 Daughters – Lisa (Brian Sands) Strombeck of North Webster & Shiela Kriska of Damascus, OR

Twin Sons – Dave (Deb) Strombeck of North Webster & Doug (Joni) Strombeck of Keystone Heights, FL

7 Grand, 15 Gt. Grandchildren, and several Gt. Gt. Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister – Gladys Culver, and 3 brothers – Robert, Wayne, and Dale Strombeck.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2020 at American Legion, St. Rd 13, North Webster, IN with Pastor Mike Beezley of the Clunette United Methodist Church officiating. A gathering of family & friends will follow the services on Sunday at the American Legion. Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN is in charge of arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Premier Hospice, 10315 Dawsons Creek Blvd., Suite J., Fort Wayne, IN 46825.
