C. Craig Doran, 60, of Burket, Indiana, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2:06 PM in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Craig was born January 5, 1955 in Warsaw, Indiana to Byron C. and JoAnn (Cole) Doran. He was a 1973 graduate of Mentone High School. In 1977 he graduated from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana where he was a member of Sigma Chi.
On October 10, 2009 in Cocoa Beach, Florida he married Linda Decker Owens.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident he was the owner of Warsaw Black Oxide in Burket.
Craig was kind and generous, always positive and enjoyed the simple things in life. He had attended 52 Indianapolis 500 races. He loved playing golf and fishing; he was an avid White Sox baseball and Colts, Bears, and Notre Dame football fan.
Craig will be greatly missed by many. But he will be missed most by his wife, Linda of Burket; step son: Alex Owens of West Lafayette, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law: Dr. Chris and Diane Doran of Winona Lake, Indiana; brother-in-law: Miguel Canda of Miami, Florida and a niece: Mattie Doran of Winona Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father: Byron Doran (August 6, 1999); mother: JoAnn Doran (May 18, 2011); and sister: Lisa Canda (March 23, 2012).
A celebration of life for Craig will be held Monday, March 16th from 4 to 7 at Stonehenge Golf & Country Club, 2850 E. Pierceton Road, Winona Lake, Indiana; with an memorial service at 6:45 PM officiated by Pastor Mike Beezley of Clunette United Methodist Church, Clunette, Indiana.
The family has asked that gifts in Craig’s memory be given to Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County, PO Box 1906, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1906 or to IU Simon Cancer Center, c/o IU Foundation, PO Box 7072, Indianapolis, Indiana 46207.
The staff of Titus Funeral Home considers it a privilege to care for the family and friends of C. Craig Doran.
