Carl E. “Hub” Wilkinson, 75, of Goshen, IN (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away at 11:10 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, IN. He was born on December 30, 1935 in Syracuse to Roy & Katie (Bitner) Wilkinson.
He lived most of his life in the Syracuse area until moving to Goshen 3 years ago and graduated in 1953 from Syracuse High School. He was married on August 29, 1970 in Syracuse to Avis K. Rowland who survives. He was a United States Army Veteran.
He was a farmer and formerly operated Auer’s Auto Supply in Syracuse & worked at Napa Auto Parts in Milford and Syracuse. He was formerly the pastor for Wolf Lake United Methodist Church & Kimmel United Methodist Church. He attended Beulah Missionary Church in Goshen and was a founding elder for Stone’s Hill Community Church in Ligonier.
He is survived by:
Wife- Avis Wilkinson of Goshen
2 Sons – Brian Wilkinson of Syracuse & Darren (wife, Karena) Wilkinson of Syracuse
7 Grandchildren – Jordan, Bryan, Michael, Amanda, Jacob, Lucas, & Jonathan
Sister- Mrs. Paul (Marlene) Pollock
Several nieces, nephews, & cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Wawasee Community Bible Church in Milford with Pastor Jack Barthel from the church & Pastor Billy Hesketh from Milford First Brethren Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Milford.
