Carol Ann Sparrow, of Winona Lake, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Grace Village Retirement Community, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 78. Born on May 14, 1946, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Edgar R. and Jane E. Witner (Love). Carol lived a life marked by devotion to her family.
A proud graduate of South Bend Riley High School, Carol furthered her education at Ball State University, where she met her future husband, Phillip Sparrow. The two wed on March 6, 1965, in South Bend, igniting a partnership that would lead to building their family home in Atwood during the 1970s. That home was a place filled with laughter and cherished memories. Carol stayed in that home until moving to Grace Village a few years ago.
For over three decades, Carol dedicated her professional life as a part-time clerk at UPS. Her warm, friendly demeanor was reflected in her participation at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood, her involvement in the Double H Home Ec Club, along with her participation in tennis and bowling leagues.
Carol was the heart of her family, known for her tradition of hosting family dinners including Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. She loved bringing everyone together. She enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Michigan, where summers were spent making memories among her loved ones. She and Phil also loved time spent in Fort Myers Beach. She was thrilled to call family members to sing "Happy Birthday," showcasing her love for connection and joy in celebrating those she loved the most.
Carol is survived by her three children, Mindy (Barry) Robins, Wendy (Jeff) Kindle, and Tim (Shelly) Sparrow, along with her grandchildren: Garrett (Paige) Jones, Logan (Desrah) Jones, Madison (Alex) Smith, McKynzie (Tanner) Lengacher, Brianna (Jared) Mutchler, Karly Rapp, Jaime (Dane) Bause, Ashley (Mike) Finney, Cody (Samantha) Kindle, Shane Sparrow, Leigha (Joe) Hickey, and Vince Sparrow. Furthermore, she leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters and a brother who will dearly miss her. She rejoined her beloved husband, Phil and her parents who preceded her in death.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Carol during her memorial gathering on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 Sheridan St. Warsaw.
