Carol J. “Joanne” Johnson, 66, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 10:37 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at The Maples Nursing Home in Goshen, IN. She was born on December 5, 1947 in Marion, IN to Ernest DeWayne & Eva Lucille (Reece) Johnson.

She grew up in Warren, IN and moved to the North Webster area in August 1957. She graduated in 1966 from North Webster High School and attended International Business College in Fort Wayne. She formerly worked as a secretary for Perfection Biscuit Co. in Fort Wayne for 2 years and retired in December 2002 from Zimmer Inc., in Warsaw after 34 years.

She was a member of the Elks Lodge in Warsaw.

She is survived by:
Brother – Richard (Janet) Johnson of Coldwater, MI
Niece – Michelle Johnson of Solana Beach, CA
2 Nephews – Michael L. (Angela) Johnson of Lafayette, IN & Matthew Johnson of Three Rivers, MI
1 Gt. Niece & 1 Gt. Nephew
Aunt – Pauline Thompson of Goshen
Numerous cousins including Karen (Gerald) Boyd of Goshen

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Beezley of the Clunette United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Mock Cemetery addition of the North Webster Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given I.U. Goshen Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46526.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
