Carolyn R. Barrett, age 88 and a resident of Kosciusko since 1966, passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.
Born in Greenfield, IN on April 19,1935, Carolyn was the daughter of Beryl and Geneva (Brooks) Narvell. She spent her youth in Hancock County, attending Eden Schools. On December 25, 1949, she was married to James E. Barrett in her parent's home.
Carolyn had a kind, warm personality; she rarely knew a stranger and was an active member of County Bible Church in North Webster. She was also very active with the Senior Primelife Enrichment Center (SPEC) and attended Winning Over Widowhood. She had a great love for sewing crafts and made many alterations for her friends at SPEC. She also spent several summers at River City Gospel Campground, where she helped in the kitchen. She loved Gospel music and Gospel concerts, playing cards and was involved with activities with her dog when she was young.
Her husband, James E Barrett preceded her in passing on February 8, 2004. She was also preceded in passing by her parents, Beryl Narvell and Geneva Narvell Thoben; sister, Patty Burris; brother, Thomas "Tommy" Narvell and grandson, Matthew Allen Tingley. Those who survive with memories to cherish include two daughters, Diana Craig and Patsy Hamilton, both of Leesburg; granddaughter, Christina Hall (and Loren Dalyrymple) of Etna Green and two great-grandsons, Grayson and Carter Hall.
Titus Funeral Home, 8056 East 500 North, North Webster, is entrusted with care of the Barrett family. Visitation will be held at the funeral home in North Webster on Monday, October 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. On Tuesday, Pastor Glenn Hall will lead a Life Celebration funeral at the funeral home, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Memorial gifts may be given to Senior Primelife Enrichment Center with envelopes available at the funeral home.
