Carolyn E. Bohnstedt, 79, of Milford, IN passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 18, 1937 in Pierceton, IN to Russell Leroy & Mary Jean (Meredith) Barnhart.
She graduated in 1955 from Pierceton High School and lived most of her life in Pierceton & Larwill area before moving to Milford in 1974. She was married on December 24, 1954 in Pierceton, IN to Richard G. “Dick” Bohnstedt who survives. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at Lamplight Restaurant in Pierceton and 6 & 15 Restaurant in New Paris.
She formerly attended the Mt. Tabor Church of God in Nappanee. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, collecting state quarters & stamps, and loved cats.
She is survived by:
Husband – Dick Bohnstedt of Milford
2 Daughters – Debra (Gary) Hill of Milford & Sharon (Ben) Reed of Greentown, IN
Son – Dan (Shawn) Bohnstedt of Milford
9 Grand & 6 Gt. Grandchildren
Brother – Bill (Janet) Barnhart of Avilla
She was preceded in death by her parents, son – Jeffrey Bohnstedt, and sister – Rosalie Hartman.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Ross Osborne of the Trier Ridge Community Church of God in Fort Wayne officiating. Burial will follow in the Milford Cemetery.
