Carolyn Elizabeth “Carol” Clark, 79, of Syracuse, IN went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 7, 2019 after a brief illness due to a brain tumor. She was born on November 9, 1939 in Warsaw, IN to George Wilbur & Dortha Ruth (Phillips) Shaffer.
She was a lifetime Kosciusko County area resident except 1 year in Pennsylvania. She graduated in 1957 from Warsaw High School and on June 26, 1966 in Warsaw, IN she married Jack P. Clark M.D. who survives. She retired in 1996 from Syracuse Family Practice after 10 years of service. She was formerly employed at Cardinal Learning Center in Warsaw as a teacher and volunteer, Dalton Foundry in Warsaw, and Hall & Marose Insurance Agency in Warsaw. She was a member of the St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Wawasee Camp of Gideons International Auxiliary in Syracuse where she served as chaplain and secretary, PEO Sisterhood in Warsaw, and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed extensive outdoor sports, traveling, and exploring God’s creation with her husband Jack.

Son – David Allan Clark of London, KY
13 Grand & 24 great-grandchildren
2 Sisters – Sue Gunter of Marion & Barbara (Lavon) Harman of Warsaw.
She was preceded by her parents, son – Bruce Clark, great-granddaughter – Grace Ann Turner, & brother – Richard Shaffer
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Tormey officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place in the Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to Wawasee Camp of Gideon’s International, P.O. Box 101, Syracuse, IN 46567 or St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, 1413 N. Long Dr., Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes are available at the church and funeral home.
