Cathy J. Hanft

Cathy J. Hanft, longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away unexpectedly at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on Monday, June 13, 2022, at the age of 54.

Born on January 27, 1968, in Warsaw, Cathy was the daughter of Edwin and Valena (Ranstead) Beigh. She was the youngest of five children. On August 26, 1989, she was united in marriage to Bart Hanft and together, they raised two children.

Cathy was a kind, generous person. She was ever-present in her children’s lives, serving as Scout leader, PTO mom, shuttle driver and their very own cheerleader. She cared deeply about her family and was a good listener with a servant’s heart; often caring more for others than herself. A hard worker in this community, Cathy had worked at the Penguin Point Home Office, Titus Funeral Home and, most recently, Warsaw Lowe’s.

Surviving with her memories to cherish is her husband of 32 years, Bart Hanft of Warsaw; children, Eva and Erik Hanft of Warsaw; brother, David (June) Beigh of Lafayette; sister, Karen (Steven) Foster of Warsaw; and mother-in-law, Robin (Larry) Gregory of Warsaw. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and brothers, Roger and Paul Beigh.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw is entrusted with Cathy’s care. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 8, 2022.
