Charles “Jack” A. Fawley passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 8:01 AM in his Warsaw, Indiana home. He recently celebrated his 81st birthday.
Jack was born on April 14, 1935 near Etna Green, Indiana. He was the son of Lloyd G. and Erna M. (Pundt) Fawley. He was a 1953 graduate of Warsaw High School and lived most of his life in Kosciusko County.
In February 1957, Jack was inducted into the US Army. He served most notably as a combat engineer, stationed in Germany. Jack was honorably discharged in August 1959.
Charles “Jack” Fawley and Martha Stevens were united in marriage on May 18, 1957 in Auburn, Indiana. Together they started a family which includes their two children: Jeff and Kathy.
Jack was a hard worker who excelled at fixing the broken. Always known to have the right tools for the job, Jack retired from Sun Metal in 1991 where he performed machine maintenance for 18 years. Jack enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and Pinochle. He also enjoyed hunting Morel mushrooms, collecting coins, and attending auctions.
Those who loved Jack most and whose hearts are left broken are his son and daughter-in-law: Jeff (Jana) Fawley of Warsaw; daughter and son-in-law: Kathy (John) Nulf of Warsaw; four grandsons: Chris Fawley and Steven Fawley, both of Katzweiler, Germany, Daniel Fawley of Warsaw and Alex Nulf of Inidianapolis, Indiana; one granddaughter: Nicole Nulf of Warsaw; and 2 great-granddaughters: Emily and Ashely Fawley, both residing at home
In addition to his parents, those preceding Jack in death are his wife: Martha Fawley, 1989, and sister: Patricia Morris, 2001.
Friends and family may gather Friday, April 22, 2016 from 10 AM – 12 Noon at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana. A service celebrating Jack’s life will take place at Noon, Friday in the funeral home with Pastor John Cook of First United Methodist Church, Wabash, Indiana officiating. A graveside service will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Jack’s memory be directed to K-21 Health Foundation-Cancer Care Fund PO Box 1810 Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1810.
