Charles L. Long, 58, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 6:56 PM in his Etna Green, Indiana home of natural causes.
Charles was born April 17, 1956 in Warsaw, Indiana to Daniel G. and Evelyn (Unruh) Long. He was a 1975 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. He also had 8 weeks at Purdue University – Agriculture Business.
A lifetime Kosciusko County resident he was a farmer and also worked for Lear Corporation in Bourbon, Indiana.
Charles was an avid Amish transporter. He was a member of the 4-H Alumni, Kosciusko County Cattlemen’s Association, Indiana Cattlemen’s Association, the Limousin Cattlemen’s Foundation and was a Triton High School FFA Supporter. He was a longtime member of the Warsaw Square Dance Club.
Survivors include his 2 sons: Aaron Long and Nathan Long – both of Etna Green; 2 grandchildren: Jayden and Liam Long, at home; and his mother, Evelyn Sechrist, also of Etna Green. Charles was preceded in death by his father: Daniel Long on July 12, 1985.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing memories in support of each other Thursday, November 20th from 3-8 PM at Mt. Tabor Church of God, Nappanee, Indiana where Charles was a member. A service celebrating Charles’ life will take place Friday, November 21st beginning at 11 AM in the church with its pastor, Jeremy Gruser, officiating. Burial will follow in Stony Point Cemetery, Atwood, Indiana.
