Charlotte A. Fleming, age 88 and a resident of Warsaw since 1962, passed away quietly in her home, surrounded with the love of her daughters.
Born in Hartford, Michigan on May 23, 1932, she was the daughter of Lewis B. and Thera I. (Briggs) Johnson. She spent her formative years in Northwest Indiana and was a 1952 graduate of Portage High School. She attended beauty school after graduation and was united in marriage to Don C. Fleming on October 23, 1953. The pair had been together since 7th grade and shared more than 63 years as a married couple. Don preceded her in passing in 2017.
Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, gardening, plants and flowers of all kinds. She also enjoyed traveling and shopping, but she is most remembered for her love of life and her fiercely independent personality.
Charlotte is survived by three daughters, Naia Fleming-Bockman (husband, Bill) of Warsaw, Dawn Kindle of Warsaw and Krista Albertini (husband, Glenn) of Champaign, IL; a granddaughter, Jaime Bause (husband, Dane) of Warsaw; great-grandsons, Reese and Camden Bause; sister, Pauline Krill of Portage and brother, Bill Johnson (wife, Edie) of Valparaiso. Charlotte’s parents and husband preceded her in passing.
A Life Celebration® is planned with Titus Funeral Home of 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 beginning at 11a.m. At 12:30 p.m., Pastor Glenn Hall will officiate Charlotte’s funeral service. Burial will take place privately in Oakwood Cemetery.
Those wishing to express their sympathy may give to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice whose gentle care was much appreciated in Charlotte’s final days.
