Cheryl Faris, age 76 of Warsaw and a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, passed away quietly in the early hours of Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in her Warsaw home. She was surrounded with love from her family who tenderly cared for her in her final days.
Cheryl was born in Warsaw on July 28, 1944. She was the daughter of Everett D. and Alice E. (Kelly) Schooley. Raised in the family home with her three sisters, she attended Warsaw High School and went on to work for Blue Bell; Hart, Schaffner, and Marx; and Worth Tax Service. She also worked in the Mentone clerk/treasurer office and was highly active with American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary where she was the secretary & treasurer for some time.
She was also active in the choir and church at Warsaw First Brethren Church where she was a longtime member. She was an accomplished baker and cake decorator and was a member of Crystal Home Ec. Club for more than thirty years. She is remembered for her silly, loving and caring personality.
Those who survive with memories to treasure include her husband, Lynn Phillips of Mentone; daughter, Pami (John) Finken of Winona Lake; sons, Scott (Karen) Wallis of Mentone and Bud (Kathy) Phillips of Palestine and three sisters: Janice Cox, Tanya Heath and Sally (Steve) Kuhn – all of Warsaw. Numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in passing by her parents and by husbands, Mike Wallis and Thomas Faris.
A Life Celebration® is planned with Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw where friends may gather for visitation on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 4 to 6 p.m. Beginning at 6 o’clock, Pastor Howard Immel and Mrs. June Imel will officiate Cheryl’s funeral service. A graveside service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with burial in Mentone Cemetery.
