Biography
Chris L. Carter, 51, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 27, 2015 at 3:12 AM in the emergency room of Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
Chris was born May 29, 1963 in Warsaw to Harry T. and Rosalie A. (Snyder) Carter.
She was a homemaker and lifetime Warsaw resident who attended God’s Highway to Heaven and Word of Truth Ministries. She enjoyed playing the guitar, flower gardening and listening to music from the 60s and 70s – especially the Eagles. She also enjoyed listening to country music. Chris was an animal lover who cared for any animal that came to her door. As Chris was the only girl in the family there was a very special bond with her mom. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters and had a special relationship with her son, Matt. She enjoyed spending time with friends in person and on Facebook. She selflessly and genuinely cared for others including taking them in if they needed a place to stay. Chris deeply loved her family and enjoyed a special bond with her granddaughter, Paige.
She will be greatly missed by her mother: Rosalie “Rose” Carter; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Lacie Haag; and Bethany and Cristofer Smiley; her son: Matthew Haag; and granddaughter: Paige; 3 brothers and a sister-in-law: Timothy “Tim” Carter, Richard “Ric” and Debra “Deb” Carter; and Brian Carter – all of Warsaw.
Preceding Chis in death was a son: Brandon Haag (May 6, 1987) and her father: Harry T. Carter (August 28, 2010).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of one another Monday, March 2nd from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A service celebrating the life of Chis L. Carter will follow beginning at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Chris be directed to Titus Funeral Home and will be used to defray funeral expenses. Gifts may be dropped off at the funeral home or mailed to: PO Box 705, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-0705.
