Christine Heedick

Christine "Chris" Heedick, 85, of Syracuse, IN died at 2:35 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009 at Miller's Merry Manor in Syracuse. She was born on April 20, 1924 in Higginson, Arkansas to Irvin Clark & Ollie (Evans) Presley.

She attended public schools in Arkansas. She lived most of her life in Arkansas and California before moving to Syracuse in 2005 from Modesto, CA. She was married to John Heedick who preceded her in death.

She retired at the age of 73 from Beverly Enterprises Nursing Home in Modesto, CA after 30 years as a nurse's assistant. She attended the Bible Baptist Church in Ligonier where she was active in the women's group. She formerly attended the Assembly of God in Modesto, CA.

She is survived by:
1 Daughter - Mrs. Ron (Elizabeth Ann) Strieby of Syracuse;
3 Sons - Bruce Irvin Heedick of Lee Summit, MO, Rick Heedick of Lee Summit, MO, & David (wife, Carolyn) Heedick of Southington, CT;
2 Sisters - Louise House of Modesto, CA & Mary Ann Parks of Springfield, IL;
1 Brother - Dale (wife, Fern) Presley of Kansas City, KS;
Several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Lara Renea Heedick, & brother - W.T. Presley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Rev. Harold Heaton of the Bible Baptist Church in Ligonier officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in North Webster, IN. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services (12:00 noon- 2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home on Monday.

Memorial bequests may be given to the Bible Baptist Church (Roof Fund), 204 W. 6th St., Ligonier, IN. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
