Clarence J. Schue, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in his Warsaw, Indiana home.
Born May 24, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, Clarence was the son of Clarence J. Schue Sr. and Beatrice (Hendrixson) Schue.
Immediately after graduating from Lane Technical High School in Chicago, Clarence joined the US Navy where he served with the Pacific Fleet. His two year tour of duty (1944 -1945) included battles in Philippines, Japan, China and Australia.
On December 22, 1951, Clarence Schue and Julia Durham were united in marriage. Together they would write a love story that spanned nearly 65 years and included three children.
Clarence was employed by Armstrong Engineers, L.M. Berry and retired from Sun Metal Products after 20 years of service.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw and a 69 year member of American Legion Post #49. He enjoyed puzzles and gardening and loved to travel, spending winters in Phoenix, Arizona.
Clarence will be lovingly missed by his family including wife: Julia Schue; son and daughter-in-law: Ken and Laura Schue of Warsaw; one granddaughter and her husband: Amanda (Bret) Walters of Warsaw; three grandsons: Jeremy Schue, Joel Schue and Jared Schue all of Ohio and two great-grandchildren: Delaney and Cooper Walters, at home.
He was preceded in death by son: Phillip Schue on December 14, 1988; daughter: Lori Schue on January 12, 1996 and brother: Dennis Schue.
Friends and family may gather for a time of sharing memories on Friday, April 29th from 6 – 8 PM in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 30th at 11 AM in Warsaw’s Oakwood Cemetery with Pastor Scott Carmer of First United Methodist Church officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Warsaw’s American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126.
The family has asked that memorial gifts in Clarence’s name be directed to Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice, PO Box 1196, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1196.
