Clarence I. “Buzz” Mowery, 92, of North Webster, IN passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse, IN. He was born on March 11, 1927 in Bluffton, IN to Howard A. & Hazel (Blair) Mowery.
He grew up in Bluffton, attended Bluffton High School, and was a United States Army & Air Corps veteran. He was married on February 18, 1956 in Columbia City, IN to Jacqueline Sue “Jackie” Fahrnow who preceded him on February 18, 1995. He formerly worked at Scarborols Egg Processing, Cline Trucking, Lucky Burgers, and Tasty Freeze all in Huntington. He lived in Huntington for many years until he moved to the North Webster area in 1979.
He formerly attended Central Christian Church in Huntington and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Deb (Greg) Bushee of Uniondale, IN
2 Sons – Rod (Deb) Mowery of Bremen & William “Willy” (Nadine) Mowery of North Webster
5 Grand, 3 Step Grand, 12 Gt. Grand, 6 Step Gt. Grand, and 3 Step Gt. Gt. Grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 sisters – Mary Jane Liggett & Mae Frauhiger, and 3 brothers – Howard Jr., Bob, and Joe Mowery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Military honors will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home with Russ Chandler & the North Webster American Legion Post 253. Private family burial will take place in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 11201 S. Marion Road-35, Marion, IN.
