Conrad G. Neff, of New Paris, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on Sunday October 2, 2022, at the age of 91. Born in rural Bourbon, Indiana on February 27, 1931, he was the son of Clarence and Freeda (Eaglebarger) Neff.

Conrad was a 1949 graduate of New Paris High School and went on to graduate with his bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in 1953. He then furthered his education by receiving his master’s degree from Ball State. On May 30, 1964, he married Lois Evans in Milford and together they spent their lives raising their daughter, Sarah. Conrad started his career teaching at both Goshen and New Paris. He then became an elementary school principal for 20 years, working at both Millersburg and New Paris. He was also very involved in the New Paris Lions Club and a member of the Milford Christian Church. Conrad was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army.

His love for sports began with playing baseball during recess in elementary school. When neighbors invited him to Notre Dame to see his first football game, he became a fan for life. Basketball was his favorite, playing for New Paris and then coaching in his teaching years. Conrad grew up listening to the Grand Old Opry on the radio which influenced his life long love for music. He played flute in the high school band, and played piano and guitar throughout his life. Big band music was also a favorite.

Along with his wife of 58 years, Lois, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Chris Tharp of Goshen; his grandchildren, Glen and Jessica Tharp of Goshen; his sister, Christine Pendleton of Corydon; and brother and sister-in-law, G. Steve and Marcia Neff of Walnut Creek, California. He is further survived by many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Neff and Freeda Neff Collins, and sister, Ileta Harley.
