Constance J. "Joan" Moore

Constance J. “Joan” Moore, 92, of Leesburg, IN passed away at 8:27 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at her home. She was born on November 27, 1928 in Fort Wayne, IN to Frank A. & Al-Aroma (Merrick) Green.

She attended South Side High School in Fort Wayne, graduated from Wawasee High School in Syracuse, and Warner Beauty School in Fort Wayne. She was married on September 7, 1946 in Warsaw, IN to Russell J. “Russ” Moore who preceded her on February 13, 2018. She moved to Leesburg area in 1949 from Fort Wayne and retired as owner / operator of Joan’s Beauty Salon in Leesburg after 33 years.

She was a member of the North Webster Church of God and former member of the Pythian Sisters Past Chiefs Club in North Webster.

She is survived by:

2 Daughters – Cynthia (Scott) Beehler of Nappanee & Sandra Stewart of Cromwell

2 Sons – Tom (Rosie) Moore of South Lake, TX & Phillip Moore of Leesburg

8 Grandchildren – Jeff (Lynn) Moore, Renee Conley, Bret (Cassie) Beehler, Brandon Beehler, Austin Stewart, Michael Moore, Sybil (Brandon) Linville, and Sarah Moore

13 Gt. Grand & 1 Gt. Gt. Grandson

Sister – Margaret Dyke of San Diego, CA

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson – Brian Beehler, sister – Sarah Roberts, and brother – James Green.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor J.J. Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Lakeland Art Association or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
