Cynthia June "Cindy" Whitaker, 60, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 5:05 PM in her Warsaw, Indiana home.
Cindy was born October 23, 1952 in Warsaw to Norman and Wanda (Babcock) Brown. She was a 1971 graduate of Warsaw Community High School. On June 27, 1987 she and Michael Whitaker were married in Warsaw.
She had been a school bus driver with Warsaw Community Schools for 6 years. Cindy attended Dutchtown Brethren Church, Warsaw.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Sean and Mary Alice Lackey of Chicago, Illinois; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Melody and Steven Farmer and Jennifer Whitaker - all of Warsaw; 2 step sons and a step daughter-in-law: Adam and Heather Whitaker of Syracuse, Indiana and Jason Whitaker of North Webster, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; father: Norman Brown, Warsaw; and 3 brothers and sisters-in-law: Mike and Cheryl Brown, Warsaw; Tim and Cindy Brown, Warsaw; and Pat and Jolina Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado;
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother: Wanda Brown on February 25, 2009.
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Wednesday, October 2nd from 5-7 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service will follow beginning at 7 PM in the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Jack Worth of Dutchtown Brethren Church.
The family has asked that gifts in memory of Cindy be given to K-21 Healthcare Foundation - Cancer Fund, PO Box 1810, Warsaw, Indiana 46581-1810.
