Dale Singer Nellans, 93, of Warsaw, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 9:27 PM in Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester, Indiana.
Dale was born July 7, 1921 in Sevastopol, Indiana to Herschel Vern and Mabel Irene (Singer) Nellans. He grew up on Twin Pine Poultry Farm (Sevastopol) and was a 1939 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.
On July 21, 1947, he and Rosellyn M. Pankop were joined in marriage in Kendallville, Indiana. They would move to Warsaw in 1966.
Dale and Rosellyn were the owners of Nellow Camp and Sport Center (Warsaw) until their retirement in 1984.
He was a member of the Mentone Masonic Lodge, Mizpha Shrine (Fort Wayne) and was a former member of the Warsaw Breakfast Optimist Club. Dale enjoyed fishing, golf and flying.
The only living survivors include 2 daughters: Marcia Nellans, Warsaw and M. Sue (and Maurice) Guiff of Akron, Indiana; and his nephew: Roger (and Diane) Nellans, Tucson, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosellyn M. Nellans on December 14, 2007; brother, Max Nellans; and sister, Helen Spitler.
Family and friends will gather to share memories and fellowship Friday, February 6th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A Masonic Service led by the Mentone Lodge will take place Saturday, February 7th at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. A funeral service celebrating Dale’s life will immediately follow. Pastor Denny Bollenbacher of New Beginnings Community Church, Atwood, Indiana will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
