Dallas LeRoy Bjella

Dallas LeRoy Bjella, 75, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2014 at his home. He was born on September 2, 1939 in Warsaw, IN to Oscar Alvin & Bonnie Mae (Grisamer) Bjella.

He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1958 from Syracuse High School. He was a United States Air Force veteran and on September 2, 1961 at Selfridge Air Force Base in Harrison, MI he married Luanne Frances Meyer who preceded him in death on July 19, 2001.

He retired in 2004 from Dana Corporation in Syracuse after 24 years of service and formerly worked at Liberty Homes & Commodore Corporation in Syracuse for 20+ years. He formerly attended the Syracuse Methodist Church.

He is survived by:
Daughter – Carolyn Carr of Milford
2 Sons – David (Michelle) Bjella of Myrtle Beach, SC & Ronald Bjella of Milford
7 Grand & 2 Gt. Grandchildren
Life Companion – Bette Rutter of Syracuse
Twin Brother – Dennis (Anita) Bjella of Syracuse

He was preceded by his parents & wife.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home. 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014 in the funeral home with Pastor Stan Owen of the Syracuse Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery with military graveside rites by the United States Air Force Honor Guard, American Legion Post 223 & V.F.W. Post 1342 both of Syracuse.
