Dana L. Arthur

Dana L. Arthur, 68, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL. She was born on December 29, 1947 in Las Cruces, NM to Roy M. & Martha J. (Bragg) Durbin.

She graduated in 1965 from Lee L. Driver High School in Winchester, IN & attended Ball State in Muncie, IN & Indiana University East in Richmond, IN. She was married on October 12, 1974 in Union City, IN to Daniel E. “Dan” Arthur who survives. She moved to the Syracuse area in 1976 from Union City. She retired in 2012 as a paraprofessional school teacher who had taught at Goshen, West Noble, and Wawasee Schools for 32 years.

She formerly attended the Friends Church & United Methodist Church in Winchester.

She is survived by:

Husband – Dan Arthur of Syracuse

2 Sisters – Deanna Mishler & Deb (Mike) Mangas of Warsaw

2 Nephews – Tim (Ann) Mangas of Warsaw & Tom Mangas of Austin, TX

2 Gt. Nephews – Jake & Kyle Mangas

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN and 1 hour prior to services on Tuesday. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
