Daniel "D.J." Garza Jr., 21, of Cromwell, IN passed away at 12:31 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011 as a result of a train / pedestrian accident in Syracuse. He was born on January 14, 1990 in Brownsville, TX to Daniel & Janie (Benavides) Garza.
He moved to the Syracuse area in 1992 from Texas and attended Wawasee Community Schools. He was formerly employed with Lippert Components in Goshen, IN.

Mother & Step Father – Janie & Rigoberto Mendoza of Cromwell
Father – Daniel Garza of Mexico
Maternal Grandparents – Ricardo & Guadalupe Benavides of Ligonier
Paternal Grandparents – Rogelio & Rosa Garza of Brownsville, TX
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. A rosary service will take place at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Dr., Ligonier, IN with Fr. Wilson Corzo officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier.
