Danny F. "Dan" Somers

Danny F. "Dan" Somers, 56, of North Webster, IN passed away at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at I.U. Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on August 1, 1960 in Fort Wayne, IN to Danny A. “Jap” & Marie H. “Tiger” Somers.

He graduated in 1978 from Wawasee High School in Syracuse, attended Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, IN, and moved to the Syracuse / North Webster area in the early 1970’s from Fort Wayne. He was married on June 5, 1982 in Syracuse, IN to Michelle Diane Myers who survives. He retired in 2009 from Dana Corporation in Syracuse after 25 years and was a self-employed consultant for automotive sorting.

He was a master mason at the Masonic Lodge # 414 in Bremen. He formerly was the den leader for the Cub Scouts in North Webster, assistant leader for the Boy Scouts in North Webster, and an archery instructor for Rising Arrow Cub Scout Day Camp in Warsaw for 25 years. He enjoyed white water rafting, disc golf, fishing, and photography.

Daughter – Sasha (John Toschlog) Somers

2 Sons – Forest (Alisha) Somers & Brenden Somers both of North Webster

3 Grandchildren – Savahanna N., Kaidan S., and Gabriel F. Somers

Parents – Dan & Marie Somers of Syracuse

Sister – Tammy Serafini of Cromwell

Visitation will be from2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 in the funeral home with Pastor Myron Drent of the Country Bible Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th floor, New York, NY 10022. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
