Daryle L. Smith Sr., 50, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Goshen Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1970 in Boston, MA to David Steel & Velma Smith.

He grew up in Alabama, graduated in 1989 from Dallas County High School in Plantersville, AL and was a United States Air Force veteran. He lived in Georgia before moving to Syracuse in 1999 and was married on May 29, 2002 in Warsaw, IN to Erin S. Alfrey who survives. He was employed at Veada Industries in New Paris and formerly worked at A.I.A. in Syracuse.

He formerly attended Bethel Baptist Church in Pierceton.

He is survived by:

Wife – Erin Smith of Syracuse

3 Sons – Daryle Smith Jr. of Goshen and Brandon & Noah Smith both of Syracuse

2 Granddaughters

Father – David Steele of North Carolina

Sister – Christina Patterson of Washington, D.C.

2 Brothers – Charles and Robert Smith of Alabama

He was preceded in death by his mother ,grandparents, and nephew

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Cremation will follow at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Daryle Smith Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN 46567.
