Davey Perkins, a cherished soul and devoted servant of God, was called home on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the age of 75. He was born in Salyersville, Kentucky, on June 8, 1949, to Morgan and Oralee Perkins (Cole). Davey lived a life rich with love, laughter, and unfaltering faith.

For over two decades, he dedicated his professional life as a polisher for Zimmer until his retirement in 1998. Beyond the workplace, Davey was a vibrant spirit who genuinely loved to pick on those he loved the most. He also proudly served our country on the frontlines of the Vietnam War as a small arms specialist for the United States Army. A faithful servant of the Lord, Davey dedicated his life to serving God, having been saved 59 years ago.

On July 28, 1972, Davey married the love of his life, Sharon K. Meade, at the Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Warsaw. The two spent their lives raising their three children. They shared a wonderful 48 years together before her passing in February of 2021.

Davey's hobbies reflected his zest for life. He had a passion for hunting of all kinds, particularly coon hunting. His love for westerns brought him endless entertainment and as an enthusiastic foodie and sweet tooth, he enjoyed life’s comfort meals; his favorite being sweet potatoes.

Family was Davey's proudest achievement. He leaves behind children who carry forward his legacy: Davey L. (Allitia) Perkins of Mitchell, Creassia (Walter) Blackburn of Mentone, and Sam (Amy) Perkins of Mitchell. His grandchildren—Alysha Perkins, Alex Perkins, Chloe Aikins, Kaylynn Aikins, Brooklyn Perkins, Katie Perkins, Zachary Blackburn, Jacob Perkins, and John Perkins—were fortunate to learn from their grandpa. Davey's legacy extends to two great-grandchildren who will carry pieces of his spirit with them always. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Doris Henderson and Wanda Stafford, both of Warsaw, as well as many extended family members and friends.

He is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Morgan and Oralee Perkins, his beloved wife, Sharon Perkins (Meade), and several siblings, including Bethal Ousley, Elizabeth Whitaker, Dawson Perkins, Russal Orn Perkins, and Rose Ann Perkins.
